Yesterday I read a story a’bt 2 donkeys and it really made me think hard a’bt our Corporate lives……

There was this one Dhobi who had two donkeys for our convenience let’s call them donkey A and donkey B.Donkey A was over-enthusiastic. It used to pretend I am so hardworking. I work lot and to get the appreciation from the Dhobi, the Donkey A used to walk fast and used to carry max possible weight on its back…

Compared to A the Donkey B was a very simple n straight forward. It never tried to flatter the Dhobi and used to do its usual work. It never felt faltering would be so important, it actually hated flattering anybody. So it used to walk with its own speed and carry only moderate weight.

But the Dhobi started noticing the difference between the two donkeys. The donkey A walks fast carries maximum weights & compared to that the Donkey B works less and is less efficient. So the Dhobi started appraising the Donkey A and started beating up the Donkey B.

Poor donkey B failed to understand what is happening; why the Dhobi beating & abusing me is. So it went to the Donkey A and said see friend Dhobi has only two of us, then why to compete? Let’s share the weights and work mutually. Why to die carrying heavy loads and running fast. Let’s not compete it won’t lead to success.

But this had a reverse impact on the Donkey A, it thought that B is afraid of him, B is jealous coz Dhobi praises me. So to show Donkey B down, A started walking even faster and carrying even heavier loads. Due to this Dhobi was very happy with A and used to beat B. due to this poor B also started taking heavier loads and walk faster. But due to this poor B started getting tired like anything. It couldn’t cope up with A. After seeing this A was very happy and it was more enthusiastic to walk faster and carry even heavier loads. A could see that Dhobi is getting happy and praising so it started working hard.     Poor B started doing same and one day due to this entire burden it died.

But A’s strength didn’t last long…due to carrying loads 4 times heavier than its weight.Its legs started weakening. It tried hard but could not cope up with Dhobi’s increased expectations. Dhobi got annoyed, the donkey which used to work like a jet was now very slow, and so Dhobi started beating A badly. Even after trying hard A could not come up to Dhobi’s expectations.

Dhobi was irritated and tired of beating A so he came to conclusion that Donkey is useless for work and it doesn’t wanna work…and sent A to the slaughter house &  went to buy a new donkey from the market.

Moral of the Story:

1. In this corporate world do not overwork to show your colleagues down.  Don’t forget that they share work with you that’s why u r getting your type of work. If you’ll dig a hole for them eventually you will fall into it.

2.If even you flatter your boss what matters to him is what work u do and what results u give. So don’t use boss as shield to tease your colleagues.

3.DON”T FORGET Boss doesn’t give a damn whether u r donkey A or donkey B, according to him u r just a DONKEY

4.The most important is instead of working like a Donkey, don’t overwork beyond Ur limits. See to it that Ur work is of good quality. NEVER WORK HARD……..WORK CLEVERLY
